In 1986, the world was forever changed with the nuclear accident near the (now) Ukrainian city of Pripyat. The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant catastrophe has horrifyingly impacted people for over 30 years. To this day, effects from the radiation are still present. Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Austria have suffered the most from contamination — though varying levels of radiation have also impacted Finland, Sweden, Moldova, Switzerland, Slovenia, Turkey, and Germany.
